Oct. 11, 2024

Grunloh Construction of Effingham recently donated $10,000 to Friends & Families of Sarah Bush Lincoln Fayette County Hospital to benefit the new medical office pavilion under construction on the hospital’s Vandalia campus.

“Tom Grunloh is such a wonderful community leader and partner, and we’re so grateful for his ongoing generosity to benefit residents and patients served by our hospital,” Amy Card, director of the SBL Health Foundation and Friends & Families Board member, said. “We’ll be proud to place a plaque in the new building recognizing Grunloh Construction for its generosity.”

The $15 million, two-story brick, metal and glass building will span 42,000 square feet and is expected to be complete in summer 2025. The first floor of the building will house primary care, physical and occupational therapy, occupational medicine and Express Care – three services currently offered in other leased Vandalia facilities. Primary care providers relocating to the new facility include Richard Funneman, MD; Jeff Jenson, MD, Bruce Braswell, PA-C; Deidre Langston, FNP; and pediatric provider Kim Peery, PNP. The first floor features 24 exam rooms, X-ray and phlebotomy services.

“We’re very excited about this project and how it will benefit our patients and community,” SBLFCH CEO Karen Dyer said. “Sarah Bush Lincoln is dedicated to providing quality and compassionate care, and this facility will allow us to bring many services already offered, under one roof. It’ll also give us the space to expand specialty services to better care for healthcare needs in the region. We truly appreciate Tom’s generosity in helping to make that happen.” The second floor of the building includes space for specialty clinics and business offices.

Tom Grunloh, owner of Grunloh Construction, said he’s proud to be part of this project and what it means to residents seeking care at SBLFCH. “It’s so important to support organizations that make a difference in the lives of others,” Grunloh said. “I really appreciate the fact that Sarah Bush Lincoln is making healthcare a priority in Fayette and surrounding counties. On behalf of my team, I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back.”
